Emmanuel Adebayor still 'motivated' to prove his worth, says Togo manager

Free agent Emmanuel Adebayor is "motivated" to prove he can still be a top player in Europe, says his national team manager.

The 31-year-old striker was released from his Tottenham contract in September after making only 13 Premier League appearances last season.

But Togo coach Tom Saintfiet said Adebayor is ready to return to action.

"He is very motivated after what happened at Tottenham to show that he is still a player that can add something to any team in England and Europe," Saintfiet said.

"He is physically ready. He still has the technical abilities and I think he is very motivated to prove a point."

Aston Villa and West Ham were linked to a move for Adebayor in the summer, and Watford are also reportedly interested in the striker, who can not sign with another team until the January transfer window.

"I hope for him that he can find a club in the Premier League," Saintfiet said.
