Chelsea confidence is coming back and results are improving - Willian

Willian has said Chelsea are gaining in confidence after his late winner brought them victory over Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Brazilian curled home a superb effort late on to give the Blues the points at Stamford Bridge and ease the pressure on manager Jose Mourinho.

Chelsea's second win in six games came amid a cacophony of fan support for Mourinho, and Willian said it had done much to boost morale.

"Confidence is coming for us and the results are coming as well," he told Chelsea's official website.

"We have to keep going and keep fighting on the pitch. We lost some games and it's been difficult for us, but we are trying to play better.

"We know we have to improve more and keep going in the same way."

Mourinho praised the winger, who has been one of the star performers in Chelsea's difficult spell.

He told Chelsea TV: "If somebody deserves the winning goal, I think Willian is perfect. His performance was complete.

"He keeps improving in every area of the game -- absolutely phenomenal.

"What he didn't [used to] have was goals. This season, most of them have been set-pieces, but he's scoring a few goals.

"This one put us in a good situation to qualify for the next round and to finish first, because if we win both matches we finish first.

Earlier, Mourinho's agent Jorge Mendes told the BBC that his client "doesn't need to prove anything to anybody" and would not be leaving Chelsea.

"He will solve the problem -- he is the best," he said. "The reaction from the supporters tells you everything. They like him.

"Everyone -- players, coaches -- you have good moments and bad moments. It is impossible to find someone like him to solve the problem."
