Watford coach Quique Sanchez Flores said "anything is possible" when he takes his promoted side to face Premier League leaders Manchester City on Saturday.
Manuel Pellegrini's side have won their opening three games of the league season and scored eight goals without reply, including a 3-0 win over reigning champions Chelsea.
The Hornets have held their own since their elevation, drawing 2-2 with Everton and 0-0 with both West Brom and Southampton, but face a tougher test altogether against City.
"They have a lot of tools, and a lot of players with different characteristics -- the power of [Sergio] Aguero, the intelligence of [David] Silva, the football of Yaya [Toure]. We will try to solve this,'' Flores told Hornets PlayerHD.
"For us it is very important to prepare a good plan and a good strategy, with the idea to be competitive. In football everything is possible.
"We are happy with our results in the league and we are in a good position in the table. Of course we have a very tough opponent, but my approach does not change.''
Tuesday's 1-0 defeat to Preston in the Capital One Cup made it three games without a goal for Watford but Flores is optimistic things will soon turn around.
"To score or not to score is sometimes a question of millimetres,'' he said. "The chances we have we need to score, but we have good chances in matches.
"To score is important if you want to win, but we have scored two goals and we have conceded two goals in three league games, and for me at the start of the season the most important thing is the balance.''
Flores will choose from a full-strength team barring long-term absentee Joel Ekstrand and fellow defender Miguel Britos, who begins a three-match ban after being sent off on his debut against Preston.
