West Brom keen to sign Palace keeper Wayne Hennessey - sources

West Bromwich Albion are closing in on the signing of Crystal Palace and Wales goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey, sources have told ESPN FC.

West Brom are planning to bring in a new goalkeeper this summer with Ben Foster sidelined until November following his cruciate knee ligament injury.

Baggies boss Tony Pulis has made goalkeeping additions one of his top priorities in preseason with Boaz Myhill out of contract this summer and yet to agree a new deal. As a result Pulis has been drawing up a list of goalkeeping targets and Henessey is top of his shopping list.

Pulis signed Hennessey from Wolves when he was in charge of Palace and he is a big admirer of the 28-year-old.

Hennessey has been frustrated with his lack of first-team opportunities since his arrival at Palace in January 2014 as he has been unable to dislodge Julian Speroni as the club's No.1.

The Welshman made just one appearance in his debut season and was restricted to seven outings this season due to the form and fitness of Speroni.
