Carlo Ancelotti open to Premier League return - Derby's Paul Clement

Carlo Ancelotti would relish a return to managing in the Premier League, according to Derby boss Paul Clement.

Ancelotti is currently out of work after leaving Real Madrid at the end of the season and turning down the AC Milan job as he is to take a one-year break from the game due to a long-standing back problem.

Clement worked with Ancelotti at Real, as well as Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain, and the recently appointed Derby manager believes the Italian could return to England in the future.

"Carlo's my friend, my mentor, and I had a fantastic experience working with him over the years," Clement said in The Times.

"I learnt a lot. The way he managed me and the way I saw him manage the team and players was phenomenal. He gave me a lot of confidence and said, 'You should try to be a head coach, you have to go soon.'

"I hope to face him in the Premier League. He loved working in England and if the right opportunity came up he wouldn't think twice about coming back here."

During his time in England, Ancelotti led Chelsea to the Premier League title and FA Cup in 2010.
