Arsenal's Danny Welbeck possible to return for Manchester United clash

Danny Welbeck could return to the Arsenal squad for Sunday's Premier League clash at Manchester United after two days out with injury.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger told the Daily Mirror that Welbeck should be "alright" for the game after undergoing tests on the knee problem that has ruled him out of the last two games.

However, Wenger later tempered his expectations in quotes on Arsenal's official site.

"Danny Welbeck has a little possibility to be fit," Wenger said. "Maybe Welbeck will be available but at the moment he looks short."

Welbeck, who joined Arsenal from United last summer, scored the winning goal as the Gunners won 2-1 at Old Trafford in the FA Cup in March.

The Daily Mail, meanwhile, reports that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is also expected to be available following a groin injury.

Victory would ensure Arsenal finish in the top three and secure an automatic place in next season's Champions League group stage, while United will be guaranteed a top-four finish with anything other than a defeat.

"I don't think we have any big injuries," Wenger added. "I don't know how long the others will be out for, it's difficult to say, but hopefully they will play again this season."
