Per Mertesacker is set to miss Arsenal's meeting with Chelsea this weekend, according to reports.
Mertesacker, 30, sustained an ankle injury in the second half of Arsenal's 2-1 FA Cup semifinal win over Reading on Saturday.
The former Germany international was replaced by Gabriel Paulista, who seems likely to deputise for him alongside Laurent Koscielny once more this Sunday at Emirates Stadium.
The Daily Mail reports that while Mertesacker "escaped any serious ankle ligament damage" he is still a doubt for the match with Premier League leaders Chelsea.
Paulista, 24, signed for Arsenal from Villarreal and has since made three top-flight starts for the club.
Chelsea are top of the table, 10 points clear of Arsenal with six fixtures left to play.
