Vincent Kompany starts for Man City against Man United in derby clash

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has been passed fit for the Manchester derby with rivals United at Old Trafford.

Kompany was doubtful for Sunday's Premier League match but has been given the green light to start for Manuel Pellegrini's side.

The Chilean coach has opted for one up front, with Sergio Aguero leading the line, and James Milner in midfield.

For United, manager Louis van Gaal makes one change, bringing Chris Smalling for Marcos Rojo in defence.

Angel Di Maria, Radamel Falcao and Adnan Januzaj are all on the substitutes' bench for United, with Robin van Persie failing to make the squad.

United have won their last five matches but have lost their last four meetings with City.
