Wilfried Zaha: Alan Pardew 'in dark' over permanent Crystal Palace move

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has suggested that he will complete his transfer window business without signing Wilfried Zaha from Manchester United on a permanent deal.

Zaha, who began his career at Selhurst Park, has returned to Palace on a season-long loan, with the Eagles reportedly willing to pay three million pounds to re-sign him on a longer-term contract.

But while former Newcastle manager Pardew has been busy in January, he implied that he will stop looking to add further players once he has completed a fourth acquisition.

Pardew has already signed Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo on loan, later completing a 4.75 million-pound move for QPR midfielder Jordon Mutch and bringing in veteran forward Shola Ameobi.

And while he expects to add Lille left-back Pape Souare, Pardew said he was "in the dark" about the idea that a deal for Zaha could go through.

"That will be it," he said in a news conference. "Deadline day is one of those days where you look across the board and there might be a player who is attractive to us or something.

"But I think for the first-team squad, we have got a big squad now and one that can carry us forward."

Zaha, who made only four appearances for United after his 2013 arrival at Old Trafford, has scored one goal in 18 games for Palace this season.

Pardew said he knew nothing about a possible permanent move, adding: "That deal, if I'm honest, I'm not up to speed on -- or whether it is a deal. I'm completely in the dark on the situation."
