Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea full of praise for Tim Howard

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea is relishing the chance to take on Everton and U.S. shot-stopper Tim Howard at Old Trafford this weekend.

Former United keeper Howard has excelled since he left for Everton 2007, with De Gea eager to praise the keeper whose performances at the 2014 World Cup summer received acclaim.

"He is a really experienced goalkeeper who has played many, many games in the Premier League," De Gea told the club's official website. "He is brave, quick around his goal and a great shot-stopper. He is a great keeper."

De Gea went on to reflect on Howard's impressive performance in the round-of-16 game against Belgium in the recent World Cup, which was marked down as one of the marquee displays of the tournament in Brazil as he made a record 15 saves in one match.

"Maybe, without him, they might have lost that [Belgium] game four or five-nil. He played really well," the Spaniard added. "When you have a game like that, your confidence just gets bigger. You always hope to have games like that."

De Gea is set to start for United against Everton on Sunday having conceded 13 goals in seven appearances all competitions this season,
