Divock Origi 'is like Patrick Kluivert'

New Liverpool striker Divock Origi has been compared to Patrick Kluivert by one of the Lille coaches who helped to develop him.

Origi, 19, shone for Belgium at the World Cup and completed a 12 million euros move to the Premier League runners-up last week.

He will spend one more season at Lille on loan before arriving at Anfield and Stephane Adam, the Lille reserve coach, said he had similar attributes to former Ajax and Barcelona striker Kluivert.

"He makes me think of Kluivert -- quick, powerful and with technique that's above the norm," he told Le Parisien.

Adam said the fact that Liverpool had moved for Origi had come as no shock to him, explaining: "When I had him working under me with the under-19s, you had the impression that he was playing with his little brothers.

"Divock has the qualities to become a world-class player."

Origi has acknowledged that he has work to do before linking up with Liverpool, and Adam said he believed it would benefit him to have another year at Lille.

"At that age the most important thing is to play," he added. "He has to get a starting place in his own right and to become a real competitor."
