Cazorla to mull Atletico link post-Brazil

Cazorla has scored 16 Premier League goals since joining Arsenal two years ago

Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has said he does not want to think about a potential move to Atletico Madrid until after the World Cup is over.

Cazorla, 29, who joined Arsenal from Malaga for 19 million euros two summers ago, has been strongly linked with a move to Atletico in Spanish press reports.

The Spanish champions are looking to add to their midfield after the exits of Diego Ribas and Tiago Mendes, with Christian Rodriguez and Barcelona target Koke also possibly leaving during the summer transfer window.

Atletico coach Diego Simeone is thought to be a big fan of two-footed playmaker Cazorla, and reportedly attempted to convince him to return to Spain 12 months ago.

Speaking from Spain's World Cup camp in Curitiba, Cazorla suggested to AS that he might consider a move after the tournament was over and revealed he had spoken about Atletico with international teammates David Villa, Koke and Juanfran Torres.

"Until the end of the World Cup I do not want to think about that," he said. "I have told my agents not to tell me anything, to avoid all the speculation.

"Everyone tells me [Atletico] is a good club, Koke and Juanfran are there as well as Villa. But I do not know anything. And, until after the World Cup, I do not want to know."
