Football Association of Ireland chief John Delaney has insisted Republic of Ireland assistant manager Roy Keane is fully committed to his current role, amid rumours he could be in line for a return to Manchester United. #INSERT

END# Former United skipper Keane is reported to be a candidate to work alongside Louis van Gaal should the Netherlands coach be named as David Moyes' successor following the sacking of Scot's sacking on Tuesday. However, Delaney believes Keane is focused only on helping Martin O'Neill's side ahead of the Euro 2016 qualifiers later this year. “There’s lots of speculation about who is going to manage Manchester United and what players are going to be involved, but I don’t think there’s anything in that.” Delaney told Irish radio station Newstalk on Friday. “Roy has given his commitment to be assistant manager to Martin and to work for the FAI. There’s been speculation about him in many jobs since he took the role with us but, no I don’t think there’s anything in that. “Roy’s 100 percent commitment is to be with the Republic of Ireland team and qualifying for Euro 2016. It’s not a case of hands off. I don’t expect Martin O’Neill or Roy Keane to go anywhere. “They have gone at this with 100 percent commitment. They have gone to more than 100 games in the last few months and I am convinced they are determined to get Ireland to the Euro 2016 finals. Earlier in the week O'Neill had claimed he knew nothing of rumours linking Keane with an Old Trafford return. Meanwhile, the FAI have submitted their bid to become a host city for the Euro 2020 finals, with Dublin’s Aviva Stadium being proposed as a potential venue for a tournament that will be staged in 13 different cities across Europe. “We are hopeful of being successful and if we are, we will have four games in Dublin, two of which will feature Ireland, if we are fortunate enough to qualify for the competition,” Delaney added.
