Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc has what it takes to succeed David Moyes at Manchester United, according to his fellow former France international, Luis Fernandez.

Moyes, who was given a six-year contract when he succeeded Sir Alex Ferguson last summer, was sacked on Tuesday morning following a season in which he failed to mount a credible title defence or even secure Champions League football for next term.
Former United defender Blanc, 48, also finds himself uncertain of his future despite being on the verge of winning the Ligue 1 title, lifting the Coupe de la Ligue last weekend, and steering the club through to the quarterfinals of this season's Champions League.

Those honours are added to the Ligue 1 crown he won during his first managerial stint with Bordeaux in 2008-09, and with a spell in charge of the France national team also under his belt- - during which Blanc guided Les Bleus to the Euro 2012 quarterfinals - Fernandez, 54, claimed on RMC the ex-French international defender now has the coaching pedigree required to be considered by a club like United.
"If you look at the season Laurent Blanc has had with PSG, that gives his case extra weight," he said. "Winning the Coupe de la Ligue, almost certainly the league, and reaching the Champions League quarterfinals gives him the dimension to go and coach a big club."
Following PSG's first-leg quarterfinal win over Chelsea, French media speculated PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi would quickly extend Blanc's contract -- which currently runs until the end of next season -- and improve the terms of the former centre-back's deal.
That was thrown into doubt following Chelsea's dramatic second-leg comeback, which saw PSG fall at the last-eight for the second successive year. However, Al Khelaifi insisted on beIN SPORTS on Sunday -- before reports of Moyes' uncertain future emerged -- that Blanc will be the PSG coach next season.
"Laurent Blanc will stay with us. He's very happy, and there is no reason for him not to stay."
