The Canaries dominated the game for large stretches and created a host of chances, but fine saves from David Stockdale and a neat finish from Rodallega ensured Fulham took the win to climb within two points of Neil Adams' side in 17th place.
"Over the whole 90 minutes today we are very lucky because Norwich was the better team and they played very well," Magath told Fulham's official website.
"We were not so good today but you see there was a lot of pressure on the players so we didn't play as well as last week. But, at the moment, three points is the only thing that counts."
Magath lauded the goalscoring exploits of Rodallega after the striker notched his second winning goal in as many games, stating: "We are very glad that he is in a very good shape and he showed that he is a very dangerous striker."
Magath also hailed Stockdale's display after the goalkeeper made a number of crucial stops to deny the Canaries after taking over duties from Maarten Stekelenburg
"Today I'm sure [Stockdale] was our best man and he saved the win for us," he continued. "There is nothing without risk so sure it was a risk [to swap keepers] because Maarten is a very good goalkeeper too.
"I told you, it was not the abilities that I have seen, I took him out because Stockdale is a goalkeeper who talks more with his teammates."
Fulham have a much kinder run-in than the Canaries: a tough trip to Tottenham next is followed by games against Hull, Stoke and Crystal Palace, who are all arguably clear of the relegation places.
The win over Norwich is just the second time this season the Cottagers have recorded back-to-back victories, and Magath believes his side's confidence is growing.
"It is a tough situation for Norwich but we have to take care because we have to make our points," he said. "We've had two wins in a row and that's very nice but it's not enough to stay up in the league. So we have to take care that we make more points and, if we can, we have to do that at Tottenham.
"I still had hope in the last weeks. I was hopeful that we are able to manage the situation to win some games and now we have won two games in a row, and that helps us to be confident. Now there are more people who think we will stay in the league than there were four weeks ago."
Adams was taking charge of his first match in the Premier League following Chris Hughton's sacking, and with their final four games being against Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal, the coach believes Saturday's defeat was a wasted opportunity.
"It's hard to take, very hard to take -- I couldn't have asked for any more,'' Adams said. "I thought they were first class. The desire they showed and the commitment they showed was excellent.
"I thought we got it tactically spot-on, and we dominated the game for long spells. We had chances and we haven't taken them, and that's ultimately cost us.
"We haven't scored enough goals as a team all season and what makes it particularly galling is after a performance like that I thought we deserved something from the game. Of course we've got to find a way now of creating the chances and turning that effort and dominance of the ball into goals and ultimately points.''
