Tottenham Hotspur winger Aaron Lennon has rejected rumours that head coach Tim Sherwood punched one of his players after their loss at Liverpool.

In the wake of Spurs' 4-0 defeat at Anfield on Sunday, speculation on social media suggested Sherwood had hit a member of the Tottenham team in the dressing room.

However, Lennon has dismissed the suggestions outright, writing on his Twitter account: "Today was not good enough and we let everyone down, but the rumours about the boss hitting someone are b******s, crazy how powerful twitter is."

Spurs are currently sixth in the Premier League table, four points behind fifth-placed Everton who have a game in hand.

Sherwood, who replaced the sacked Andre Villas-Boas in December, has recently come under pressure at White Hart Lane, after four losses in his last six league games.
