City face wait over Sergio Aguero injury

Manchester City face an anxious wait to find out the extent of the injury suffered by striker Sergio Aguero in the 5-1 win against Tottenham at White Hart Lane.

Sergio Aguero was forced off injured against Spurs after putting the visitors into the lead.
Aguero receives treatment after suffering the injury.

Aguero, who had given City the lead when he met a fine Silva through-ball and produced a superb finish past the onrushing Hugo Lloris, limped off before half-time after taking a knock and was replaced by Stevan Jovetic.

The Argentina international sat out eight games after limping off in December's 6-3 win over Arsenal with a calf injury, but returned to action in the FA Cup replay win over Blackburn Rovers.

Coach Manuel Pellegrini told BT Sport: "We will see tomorrow with the doctor what happened with Sergio. It's possible it was a consequence of him playing 90 minutes [against Watford in the FA Cup at the weekend].

"We hope we can recover him as soon as possible."

Skipper Vincent Kompany added: "It's bad news, of course, but we will have to see. We don't know how bad it is, but hopefully he'll be back very soon."

Information from the Press Association was used in this report.
