It was an incredibly high-scoring round last weekend and it was Tommy Smyth who just edged it once again. It proved to be exceptionally hard luck on our challenger Bryce Collin, however. He got the correct result in nine of the ten Premier League games -- but not getting a scoreline right meant he finished third! Amazing.
We simply have to stop Tommy somehow - - so we've called on his nephew, Padraig Smyth, to try and perform wonders for the Rest of the World team.
Padraig, who lives in Dundalk in Ireland, tells us: "Well lads, I'm back for my usual stint for family bragging rights. A Villa supporter all my life, I reckon we can get a win at Anfield this weekend. I am also looking to put an end to this lucky run my uncle is on at the minute. Good luck boys, and bring it on!"
For each round of matches we invite someone to represent the Rest of the World and take on ESPN FC TV's Tommy Smyth and ESPN FC journalist Dale Johnson in our predictions game.
Points are then awarded as follows:
- Three points for a correct result and scoreline
- One point for a correct result
After the weekend's scores are in and the Showdown result has been worked out, the winning pundit receives three points for their season's total Should the challenger win, the total is added to the Rest of the World tally. In the case of a draw, the points are shared.
We want your entries for the next round of games - so get your selections in now!
What drama! It was a woefully low-scoring round and Padraig stole in at the last with the correct scoreline at the Hawthorns. Family bragging rights stay in Ireland this season!
