Manchester United manager David Moyes revealed that major summer signing Marouane Fellaini is closing in on a return to the playing squad.
• Jolly: Uncertain future
Fellaini has been out of Moyes’ first-team plans since undergoing wrist surgery in December, the Belgian international kept on the sidelines for six weeks.
But in positive news for the midfielder, Moyes told MUTV that Fellaini has recovered to near full health and will soon return to the training paddock with his teammates.
“Fellaini will have the cast taken off his hand on Monday,” Moyes said “It was a serious wrist injury which needed a major operation.
“It was bad. He had to make sure he got it sorted properly otherwise it might have affected him for the rest of his life.
“He has been able to do lots of running and lots of training but nothing with a football.
“Hopefully next week we will get him back.”
