Premier Showdown - January 1
Tommy Smyth returned to the top of the table as outright leader at the weekend with a great performance, holding off Dale Johnson for victory. It was another disappointing display from the Rest of the World, though.
Looking to put that right as we nurse hangovers from the New Year celebrations is Will Aquino who is from Buenos Aires in Argentina.
Will tells Showdown: "I'm a 29-year-old American living in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I've been supporting the Arsenal since I began playing soccer in high school. I run a small organisation where we play football and do classes with underprivileged kids in the southern neighborhoods of Buenos Aires."
For each round of matches we invite someone to represent the Rest of the World and take on ESPN FC TV's Tommy Smyth and ESPN FC journalist Dale Johnson in our predictions game.
Points are then awarded as follows:
- Three points for a correct result and scoreline
- One point for a correct result
After the weekend's scores are in and the Showdown result has been worked out, the winning pundit receives three points for their season's total Should the challenger win, the total is added to the Rest of the World tally. In the case of a draw, the points are shared.
We want your entries for the first weekend of the season - so get your selections in now!
Yet again a comfortable victory for Tommy and he starts 2014 the way he ended 2013 -- in style.
