A high-scoring round last time out but Dale Johnson took the honours thanks to his two correct scorelines. He's now guaranteed to be our Christmas No. 1.
Can either Tommy Smyth or the Rest of the World give themselves some festive cheer in the first of four quickfire rounds of Showdown? Hoping to pick up the points for the ROTW this weekend is Will Rotherham who lives in Cardiff, Wales.
He tells Showdown: "Hello!! I am a Cardiff City fan but this year I'd love to Arsenal win the title, because I think they have always been a brilliant team and they deserve it. I'm 15 in Cardiff, but from Bristol originally and... well that's it really."
For each round of matches we invite someone to represent the Rest of the World and take on ESPN FC TV's Tommy Smyth and ESPN FC journalist Dale Johnson in our predictions game.
Points are then awarded as follows:
- Three points for a correct result and scoreline
- One point for a correct result
After the weekend's scores are in and the Showdown result has been worked out, the winning pundit receives three points for their season's total Should the challenger win, the total is added to the Rest of the World tally. In the case of a draw, the points are shared.
We want your entries for the first weekend of the season - so get your selections in now!
Victory for Tommy with a game to spare. He's right back on Dale's tail.
