Henderson set to make Spurs clash

Jordan Henderson has returned to full training and is ready to play a part in Liverpool's Premier League game at Tottenham on Sunday.

• Dall: Rodgers' juggling act

The England midfielder was a doubt after suffering a bruised ankle in last Saturday’s 4-1 victory over West Ham.

Henderson was injured by a reckless challenge from Hammers midfielder Kevin Nolan, who was sent off. It had initially been feared that the 23-year-old would miss the trip to White Hart Lane, but manager Brendan Rodgers expects him to be available.

Rodgers told the Liverpool Echo: "Jordan trained on Thursday, so we're expecting him to be fine for Sunday.

"It was just a precautionary measure over the last few days. It was a bad challenge that was made on him, but thankfully he’s OK."

Henderson’s return will boost a Liverpool midfield missing captain Steven Gerrard, who will be out for up to six weeks with a hamstring injury sustained against West Ham.

Rodgers added: "Certainly at this stage it's a four to six-week injury. Steven will go through an extensive treatment programme over the next few weeks, and we hope we can get him back that little bit sooner."

Vice-captain Daniel Agger will be available to return in defence after missing last Saturday’s game because of illness.
