Brazilian midfielder Oscar has revealed he came "very close" to joining Real Madrid last year, before opting to move to Chelsea.
Oscar was on the radar of Jose Mourinho while the Portuguese was in charge of Los Blancos last summer and a move to Spain from Internacional was very much on the cards.

Mourinho was in the stands for Brazil's friendly against Denmark in May 2012 and made it clear he was interested in the 22-year-old.
"A month before signing for Chelsea I was very close to doing so with Real Madrid as Mourinho said he wanted me," Oscar told Globoesporte. "Before the game [against Denmark] there were talks with Madrid, but they had the playmaker position well covered. After that, I signed for Chelsea."
Mourinho's eagerness to sign Oscar has aided the Brazil international this season, with the Chelsea boss using him as the Blues' key playmaker.
"He talked to me as soon as he came to Chelsea," Oscar added. "He gives me confidence and I'm trying to return all such support on the pitch."
