Premier Showdown - October 19-21

Another comfortable win for Tommy Smyth before the international break, which enabled him to move into the international break with a healthy lead of 4.5 points.

That has set Tommy up well for the next run of games before the World Cup playoffs arrive, but our Rest of the World team will be eager to make a real challenge at the top.

Joining us this weekend is Robert Clapperton who resides in Cochrane, Canada.

Robert tells Showdown: "I live in Canada now, though am originally from Carlisle, and have always supported Carlisle United and Manchester United. Fifty-eight years young, soccer is a passion since I was five years old -- still the greatest team game in the world and I still play at the age of 58 (I can get away with that here in Canada, probably wouldn't have played for the last 20 years if still in England!)"

Game on!

For each round of matches we invite someone to represent the Rest of the World and take on  ESPN FC TV's Tommy Smyth and ESPN FC journalist Dale Johnson in our predictions game.

Points are then awarded as follows:
- Three points for a correct result and scoreline
- One point for a correct result

After the weekend's scores are in and the Showdown result has been worked out, the winning pundit receives three points for their season's total Should the challenger win, the total is added to the Rest of the World tally. In the case of a draw, the points are shared.

We want your entries for the first weekend of the season - so get your selections in now!

It was very tight going into Monday's game after a superb performance from Richard - who amazing got eight of our nine results correct. But that wasn't enough to take the points as Dale sneaked in front by predicting Fulham would win at Crystal Palace. And that send the ROTW to the foot of the table!
