Michael Jackson statue taken down
Fulham have removed the Michael Jackson statue which had stood outside of Craven Cottage for over two years.
Former club chairman Mohammed Al Fayed, who was close to Jackson, had the statue erected behind the Hammersmith Stand in April 2011.
The decision to install the statue caused plenty of controversy among Fulham fans, only for Al Fayed to tell them to “go to hell”.
Khan said last week: "Our supporters' views on the statue have been made clear. I respect Mr Al Fayed and know he had good intentions in paying an individual tribute. However, the removal of the statue is the right thing for Fulham Football Club."
On Wednesday morning the statue was cut free from its plinth and returned to Al Fayed, who could sell it to raise money for charity.
