Stoke: Palacios can go for £1.5 million

Stoke City will allow midfielder Wilson Palacios to join newly-promoted Hull if the Tigers meet their £1.5 million valuation, a source has told ESPN.

Stoke are in talks with Hull about a move for the Honduran, who has failed to make an impact at the Britannia Stadium since his arrival from Tottenham.

Palacios, 28, did not start a Premier League game under former manager Tony Pulis last season and had been hoping for a fresh start under new boss Mark Hughes.

He has come close to leaving Stoke for Olympiakos and Fulham in the last 12 months, and last season Hull asked about the possibility of a loan deal.

Hull were hoping Palacios could come to an agreement over terminating his contract, which has two years to run, meaning they could sign him on a free transfer.

But while Stoke chairman Peter Coates is happy to allow Palacios to move on, he is eager to recoup some of the £6 million paid to Spurs for him two years ago.

Palacios has been disappointed by suggestions from Pulis that he was not in a mental or physical condition to cope with the Premier League last season.

His agent, Giuliano Iacoppi, said recent international matches for Honduras proved Palacios was fit and keen to play, and said he was awaiting talks with Hughes about his future.

"We haven't met Mark Hughes yet, so it will be up to him and to Stoke City what they want to do. Wilson has been playing games for 90 minutes for Honduras and he is fit," Iacoppi said.
