Tiote confident of Newcastle stay

Newcastle midfielder Cheick Tiote insists he will not be requesting a move away from St James' Park in the summer.

Tiote: Arrested on fraud charge
Tiote has impressed since moving to St James' Park

Tiote, 26, has been strongly linked with Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow in recent weeks, raising concerns that the Ivory Coast international is unhappy at Newcastle.

But Tiote has revealed the only way he will be moving abroad is if Newcastle no longer require his services - an unlikely scenario given his impact since joining the club from FC Twente in 2010.

"I have a contract with Newcastle," Tiote said. "Unless they want to do business with another club, I will be a Newcastle player. I do enjoy the Premier League and want to play there for many years, but you never know in football."
