Bale: Foreign move still appeals

Gareth Bale has reiterated his desire to play on foreign shores at some stage, but has no pressing desire to move on from Tottenham in the near future.

Gareth Bale's impressive season for Spurs has not gone unnoticed by Europe's elite

Bale has had a stellar campaign and scooped the Professional Footballers' Association Player of the Year award and Football Writers' Association Player of the Year gong.

Such is Bale's standing in the game he is being mentioned in the same breath as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo and with the Wales international in such blistering form, he is being linked with moves to some of Europe's biggest sides.

A move abroad has been talked about in the past and it is something that appeals to the 23-year-old.

"I have said in the past I would love to experience playing abroad," Bale told Sky Sports. "You can never tell what the future holds, but at the moment I am concentrating on what I am doing here.

"It gets asked a lot at the moment, but it is something I am not thinking too much about at the moment. My mind is not wandering anywhere."

With one game remaining in the season, Tottenham are still in the hunt for Champions League qualification and it is clear Bale wants to be playing on Europe's biggest stage.

"We have a job to do," Bale said. "We set a goal at the start of the season and we want to achieve it. "Winning is a massive thing and playing against the best teams is what a footballer wants to do. Champions League is a massive thing. We have been there before, playing against the best teams in the biggest stadiums, testing ourselves."

Despite proving himself the outstanding player in the Premier League this season, Bale has made it clear that he has areas to improve on.

"I need to work a lot on my right foot," he said. "Sometimes I get a bit of confidence with it. But it can be a bit all over the place. I will look to strengthen it over the summer and work on it in pre-season."
