Fellaini: Chelsea have to make a bid

Everton midfielder Maroune Felliani has told Chelsea they must make a bid if they are interested in signing him.

The Blues have long been linked with a move for Fellaini, who is valued at around £30 million, as they seek to add to a Belgian contingent that includes Eden Hazard, Romelu Lukaku, Thibaut Courtois and Kevin de Bruyne.

However, Fellaini says there have been no concrete offers for his services at this stage.

The 25-year-old is quoted as telling The Sun: “If Chelsea want to sign me then they need to come forward with a bid for me. I have heard about Chelsea’s interest but I’ve honestly not spoken to them.”

Even if Chelsea are to bid, Fellaini has indicated that he is not seeking to leave Goodison Park.

The midfielder, who signed from Standard Liege for an initial £15 million in 2008, would appear happy to remain with Everton should they secure a top-four finish.

“Every season I’ve been here, top clubs have been asking about me but, for now, I’m happy at Everton,” he added. “It might feel better to play Champions League football for Everton than Chelsea, as they gave me my debut in England.”

Everton boss David Moyes had said in November that Fellaini would only be sold for a “big price”.
