West Ham have signed defender Emanuel Pogatetz on loan from Bundesliga club Wolfsburg until the end of the season.
Pogatetz, 30, spent five seasons with Middlesbrough before moving to the Bundesliga to play for first Hannover and then Wolfsburg.
The Austria international told West Ham’s official website: "I feel very good to be here, and I am very excited about playing for West Ham.
“I will be doing my best to play well and hope I can play a part in the club achieving the targets for this season.
"West Ham are a very traditional club, with passionate supporters. It was good for to have the opportunity to come back and play in England - this is the football I want to play, and I have missed playing here."
Pogatetz, who has been capped more than 50 times for his country, can play at either centre-back or left-back.
