Alonso open to Prem return

Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso has hinted at a possible return to the Premier League, as he continues contract negotiations with the Spanish giants.

Xabi Alonso is backing both Real 'keepers
Alonso spent five seasons at Liverpool.

Alonso, 31, spent five seasons at Liverpool, helping them to Champions League and FA Cup glory.

The Spaniard has been linked with a move to Anfield since talks over an extension to his contract at Real failed to progress and with 18 months remaining on his current deal, Alonso is considering another stint in England.

"I have not decided on my future," he said. "I will only stay at Real Madrid if I can offer the same level on the pitch as I can now and we will see what happens in the next few months.

"There is always a chance I could go back to the Premier League as I always enjoyed good times there."
