Redknapp lines up Keane deal

QPR manager Harry Redknapp is ready to patch up his differences with Robbie Keane and offer the Republic of Ireland captain a temporary return to the Premier League next month.

Robbie Keane set for a Premier League return?

Redknapp fell out with Keane during their days together at Tottenham when the Dubliner arranged a Christmas party in his home town for his team-mates back in 2009 despite being warned against the plan by his manager, yet the new Loftus Road chief has suggested the LA Galaxy striker could be on his radar for a loan move in January.

“Robbie’s a good shout, he probably would be an interesting player,” said Redknapp of the striker who won a second MLS title with Galaxy last weekend.

“I haven’t spoken to him yet, but he would be an interesting player. He’s a good pro and he would be the ideal type to have around for sure because he would give us something.”

Redknapp has insisted he has no problems with the striker despite a fall-out that saw the Irishman fall rapidly down his pecking order at White Hart Lane, with the duo briefly reunited as Keane trained with Spurs prior to his loan move from LA Galaxy to Aston Villa last January.

If Keane is to link-up with Redknapp again, he will be relieved to have missed the Christmas party season, as the QPR chief has confirmed he has banned his new players from toasting Christmas in the traditional manner with a team party.
