Juliano Belletti to return to Barcelona in ambassadorial role

Juliano Belletti has followed Ronaldinho and Eric Abidal in agreeing a deal to return to Barcelona in an ambassadorial role, the club has announced.

Belletti, 41, spent three seasons at Barca and is fondly remembered at the club for his winning goal in the 2006 Champions League final against Arsenal in Paris.

As an ambassador, Barca say Belletti "will represent the club at different events and will collaborate in institutional and social area events as well as activities linked to the FCBEscola."

The Brazilian will also form part of the Barca Legends project, a team made up of former players who play matches around the world as the club look to globalise their brand.

"My job is to try and expand the Barca brand around the world and demonstrate that FC Barcelona is about a lot more than just football," Belletti told the club's official website.

"Barca always try to do something special in all countries, that is why we have been to places like Uganda, Greece, Japan and the United States.

"The club also organises charity events like the latest Legends match and I want to be a part of it. Barca has all of these values and I want to help everyone understand and share them."

As well as the Champions League, Belletti also won two La Liga titles and two Spanish Super Cups in his time at Camp Nou, before leaving for Chelsea in 2007.
