Barcelona charged by UEFA after fans enter field in win over PSG

UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against Barcelona after supporters breached the pitch after Sergi Roberto's dramatic 95th-minute winner against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday.

Roberto's goal sealed a 6-1 win and completed the Champions League's biggest ever turnaround following Barca's 4-0 loss in the first leg at the Parc des Princes.

It was the culmination of a seven-minute spell which had seen Barca score three times and led to pandemonium in the Camp Nou stands and on the pitch.

Despite the fact there was still a few seconds left to be played out, the Catalan club's coaching staff streamed on to the pitch and a few fans were able to break through security to join in with the celebrations.

"Disciplinary proceedings have been opened following the UEFA Champions League round-of-16 match between Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, played on Mar. 8 in Spain," a statement from European football's governing body said.

"Charges against Barcelona: Field invasions by supporters -- Art. 16 (2) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations (DR).

"This case will be dealt with by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body on Mar. 23."

Barca face a possible fine for the incident although it looks unlikely there will be any further punishment, such as partial closure of Camp Nou for an upcoming Champions League game.

Goals from Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and a Layvin Kurzawa own goal had given the Blaugrana hope of an unlikely comeback, but Edinson Cavani's strike just after the hour left them needing three more goals and looked to have ended their chances.

However, an 88th minute free kick from Neymar sparked an incredible finale, which led to the scenes on the pitch at the end of the game.
