Barcelona's Sergio Busquets could be fit for Athletic Bilbao game

Sergio Busquets returned to Barcelona training on Friday and a late decision will be taken on his fitness for the weekend's game against Athletic Bilbao at Camp Nou.

However, he is almost certain to be in contention to start Tuesday's Copa del Rey semifinal second leg against Atletico Madrid.

Andres Iniesta, who himself was back in training on Thursday, may feature against Athletic on Saturday and will also be available for Tuesday's game against Atletico, which Barca will begin with a 2-1 advantage.

"They both trained [on Friday] but it's now down to the doctors and the players themselves to determine their condition [for Athletic]," Barca coach Luis Enrique said in a news conference on Friday.

"But regardless of when they come back, it's good news for everyone to have players returning. It gives me more playing resources which can only be a good thing."

Luis Enrique had all of his players available for Friday's training session, with Lucas Digne also fit again after missing the midweek win at the Vicente Calderon over Atletico with a knee problem.

Busquets has been missing since the Eibar game on Jan. 22 with sprained ankle ligaments, while Iniesta has not played since injuring his calf against Real Sociedad on Jan. 19.

Even if Busquets is cleared to play, Barca may not choose to risk him, with Javier Mascherano an option to continue in the defensive midfield role he filled away to Atletico.

"I have a lot of options," Luis Enrique said when asked if Mascherano would start. "Depending on who we're playing against, I could go for one player or another.

"I always try to do the best I can for the team. I am happy with players, whether that's been Masche, [Ivan] Rakitic or Sergi Roberto in that role. It's normally Busquets, but it can be others."
