Barcelona's Neymar OK after car crash, has linked up with squad - source

Barcelona forward Neymar is unhurt after suffering a scare when he crashed his Ferrari, a source has told ESPN FC, and is with the rest of the squad ahead of the game against Real Sociedad on Sunday.

Neymar, 24, was en route to the club's training ground to join up with his teammates before flying to San Sebastian for the match when he lost control of his car.

Images on Catalan television revealed the Brazil international ended up facing the oncoming traffic, but there appears to be little damage to his Ferrari Spider.

Neymar was able to join up with the rest of the Barca squad as expected and is fine for the game against La Real at the Anoeta, the source said.

Sport reports that the forward was immediately collected by members of the club's staff, who ensured he did not arrive late for the trip to the Basque Country. Other club officials remained at the scene of the accident with the car to sort out the necessary paperwork.

A bad day for Neymar could get worse if he is booked in Barca's game against Sociedad as he is one yellow card away from a suspension.

A caution at the Anoeta, therefore, would rule him out of Saturday's Clasico against Real Madrid, although Luis Enrique insists that is not a factor which he is worrying about.

"No, not at all," the Barca boss responded in a news conference on Saturday when asked if he has considered not playing the forward. "I won't rest Neymar.

"For me, there's just one game: Real Sociedad. We get the same amount of points for winning there as we do for beating Madrid."

Following Madrid's 2-1 win against Sporting Gijon on Saturday, Zinedine Zidane's side currently have a seven-point lead over Barca, who have not beaten Sociedad away from home since 2007.
