Barcelona's Lionel Messi, Samuel Umtiti, Ivan Rakitic fit for Deportivo

Lionel Messi, Samuel Umtiti and Ivan Rakitic have all been passed fit to return to action for Barcelona's game with Deportivo La Coruna on Saturday, but there is no room in the squad once again for the out-of-favour Aleix Vidal.

Messi returned to training on Wednesday after missing the wins over Sporting Gijon and Borussia Monchengladbach and the defeat to Celta Vigo with a groin problem.

Barca coach Luis Enrique said the forward's comeback was the week's "great news" in his prematch news conference on Friday and hinted that he would be given some minutes this weekend ahead of Wednesday's Champions League clash with Manchester City.

A statement released by the Blaugrana on Saturday confirmed Messi has been given the all-clear by the club's medical department and been included in the squad to face Deportivo, along with Umtiti and Rakitic.

Umtiti has been sidelined since picking up a knee injury in training before September's 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid, while Rakitic did not join up with Croatia last week because of a problem with his Achilles tendon.

Vidal, though, has not been called up by Luis Enrique despite an injury to first-choice right-back Sergi Roberto -- who, along with Jordi Alba and Jasper Cillessen, is one of three players currently on the treatment table.

It is the seventh consecutive game in which the Barca boss has chosen to leave the former Sevilla man out, raising doubts about his future at the Camp Nou.

His last appearance was in the 2-1 loss to Alaves on Sept. 10 and he has not been named in a matchday squad since, leading to reports he could leave the club in January.

Since joining in 2015, Vidal has endured a frustrating time. He was unable to make his debut until January of this year due to the club's transfer ban, but by March he was frozen out and did not make another La Liga appearance for the rest of the season.

The player himself claimed a talk with Luis Enrique in the summer had cleared the air, with appearances in the Spanish Super Cup and La Liga ensuing, but his recent omissions suggest he is deemed surplus to requirements at the club.
