Barcelona boss Luis Enrique: Neymar is spectacular and has his own style

Barcelona coach Luis Enrique has urged people to focus on players who break the rules rather than complaining about Neymar's tricks.

His comments came amid an increasing debate about the Barcelona attacker's style after some accused him of showboating in the 5-1 win over Leganes at the weekend.

Atletico Madrid defender Juanfran and former Barca player Michael Laudrup are among those to have spoken out after that match.

But Enrique, speaking ahead of Wednesday's La Liga game against Atletico Madrid at the Camp Nou, told a news conference: "Neymar has his own style -- he's spectacular.

"That's his way of understanding football, and we really enjoy him. There are other players who have their own styles and see things differently, too. It's a cultural thing, with South American and Brazilian players especially.

"Everyone is free to have their own opinion. I like the way Neymar plays. There are no rules saying you can't make spectacular moves whether you're winning 4-0 or losing 4-0.

"Maybe you should question things which people do which are against the rules."

Enrique has a fully-fit squad to choose from against Atletico in a game he said would be "an important test to see what level we are at."

"We can't afford to commit errors and we will have to play our possession football," he said.

"They're a direct rival and we will have to do everything well to beat them."

Barca go into the game three points behind leaders Real Madrid, while the Rojiblanco lie one point further back after four games of the new season.
