Luis Enrique rejects idea of Barcelona teams, urges support for full squad

After making many changes to the Barcelona team in the past week, manager Luis Enrique says he only has one squad and called for unconditional support for all members of the first team.

Luis Enrique made eight changes for Tuesday's victory over Celtic after a La Liga defeat to Alaves at Camp Nou last weekend. And the manager hinted there will be more rotations against Leganes -- "you will see [how many] on Saturday" -- as he looks to manage a run of seven games in 23 days.

However, he has not been happy with some of the criticism of his fringe players in the last week and asked for unconditional support for everyone who plays for the first team during the hectic schedule leading up to October's international break.

"We have a squad, all the players that go out are Barca players and you have to support them," he said in a news conference.

"These type of comparisons [between the Alaves and Celtic lineups] don't make any sense. Get behind the players. It's not like we have a J team, a H team or a Z team, we have a squad. All the players are Barca players.

"We are on a cycle of seven games, with two down, we obviously have to plan for these things and make decisions as we go [regarding selection].

"We have Atletico [on Wednesday], games in Vigo, Germany and then the international break. We have to adapt what we can and make sure we get positive results for the team.

"What's happened has happened [against Alaves]. There will be other games like that, but the question is whether we win the title in May, not if we've lost against X team or Y team."

Luis Enrique also warned his Barcelona players that they can't afford to rest on their laurels with the possibility of a second consecutive league defeat when they travel to Leganes.

Like Alaves, who won 2-1 last weekend, Leganes were promoted last season and have already held Atletico Madrid at their Butarque home in what has been an encouraging start to their first-ever top-flight campaign.

Barca returned to form with a seven-goal win against Celtic in the Champions League midweek, but it's last Saturday's loss to Basque side Alaves which Luis Enrique is holding up as a caution as he seeks to avoid back-to-back league defeats.

Asked about the possibility of underestimating Leganes, Luis Enrique said: "Alaves are a 'lesser' team and they beat us so there's your example right there.

"In theory we are the better side, but if we can lose a game at home imagine what it could be like in an away game. All the players are aware of what we have to do.

"Leganes will make things difficult, press us and create danger. They have quality players in attack, like Gabriel, so we need to be as intense as them, create chances and make sure the game goes our way.

"I expect them to be brave and show no fear -- I've noticed [those qualities] in recently promoted teams. But they play good football, too. We saw against Atletico they didn't play that defensively."
