Barcelona mulling new deal for Marc-Andre ter Stegen - Bartomeu

Barcelona are considering a contract extension for goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, according to club president Josep Maria Bartomeu.

Ter Stegen split time with Claudio Bravo in each of the past two season at the Camp Nou. However he looks to be the undisputed No. 1 after  the Blaugrana sold Bravo to Manchester City near the end of the summer transfer window, and despite the arrival of Jasper Cillessen from Ajax.

Bartomeu has stated his desire to offer improved deals to Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Ivan Rakitic in the coming months, and has now added the 24-year-old German to that list.

He told RAC1: "[Ter Stegen] is a fundamental piece in the future of Barcelona.

"Like Rakitic, Suarez and Messi, he is a lynchpin and our commitment to him is strong."
