Luis Enrique: Barcelona are scariest team left in Champions League

Barcelona coach Luis Enrique said he felt the only scary team left in the Champions League was his own after Wednesday's comfortable 3-1 round-of-16 second leg win at home to Arsenal.

Neymar, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi were all on the scoresheet for Barca, with Mohamed Elneny scoring for Arsenal as the Catalan side won 5-1 on aggregate.

Barca remain on course for a historic back-to-back treble of Champions League, La Liga and Copa del Rey trophies.

And asked whether he had any preference for an opponent ahead of Friday's quarterfinal draw in Nyon, Luis Enrique said: "The only team I would not like to get is Barca. But I can't get them, so I am relaxed about it."

Bayern Munich are widely seen as likely challengers for this year's trophy, with former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola seeing his side go through 6-4 on aggregate against Juventus on a dramatic night in Germany.

Luis Enrique said: "I am very happy for Pep -- he deserves something in his last year at Bayern.

"No matter the scoreline, his teams never give up. It was a difficult game against last year's runners-up. This tie meant one of two possible candidates for the title would go out, which is good for us. We will just wait and see what the draw brings."

Reacting to Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger's praise for Messi in his postmatch news conference, Luis Enrique said: "Obviously we have players with a unique profile, who individually can resolve any situation in the play.

"But in the end, the great thing about this team is that they work collectively in both attack and defence. They also do their defensive work, the first line of pressure, which the team needs.

"To be European champions, we will have to attack and defend at same high level."

But he said he had not been happy with his side's performance in the early part of the game, explaining: "In the first half, there was 10-15 minutes with constant up and down, and we did not want that type of game given the result from first leg.

"We then had more structure and were able to take our chances to resolve the game."

He said Premier League sides were "not getting the results [in the Champions League] that you might think for the level of players they have, for the signings they make.

"Yesterday I was surprised to see Manchester City making the last eight for the first time," he added. "It is something to analyse. I don't have all the information, but they are finding it hard to reach the level needed in European competition to win the trophies."
