Luis Enrique revels in Barcelona squad strength after Getafe rout

Barcelona coach Luis Enrique praised the depth in his squad after Saturday afternoon's 6-0 stroll past Getafe at the Camp Nou.

Neymar scored a brace while Munir El-Haddadi, Lionel Messi and Arda Turan also found the net the La Liga leaders, with Getafe midfielder Juan Rodriguez having opened the scoring early on with an own-goal.

Barca's 12th straight league win saw them move 11 points ahead of second placed Atletico Madrid in the La Liga standings, before Diego Simeone's side host Deportivo La Coruna on Saturday evening.

Regular starters Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets, Dani Alves, Javier Mascherano and Ivan Rakitic all got a rest against the woefully out of form Getafe side, with Aleix Vidal, Munir, Sergi Roberto, Thomas Vermaelen and Sergi Samper among the squad players to be given playing time.

Luis Enrique told his postmatch news conference at the Camp Nou that he was delighted with the attitude shown by his lower-profile players, pointing to Munir having scored his third goal in his last three starts.

"It's a very good situation," Luis Enrique said. "We have almost all the squad available and in top shape to perform.

"Munir is taking advantage of the time he gets, bringing lots to us, scores goals and works hard too. Those who play are very good, and those who play less are also very good. It's a perfect situation for a coach. The only problem is we don't have enough playing time for everyone."

The only low point for Barca's afternoon was Messi missing yet another penalty, meaning he personally has missed four of the seven he has taken in La Liga. Barca in general have scored seven of the 15 spot-kicks they have been awarded in the league.

Barca's unbeaten run has now been stretched to 37 matches in all competitions, with their next three games now Arsenal in the Champions League round-of-16 second leg on Wednesday, Villarreal away in La Liga next weekend and then a Clasico at home to Real Madrid after the international break.

"This is a unique team, different from the others," Luis Enrique said. "They do things so easily that it seems the opponent cannot do anything. [Getafe] had players back, but when we are that precise, that quick at moving the ball, it is very difficult for them.

"We went in at half-time with game all but decided, as we are in a very sweet moment, with the whole team very confident."

Luis Enrique said Suarez was given the afternoon off as the Uruguay international had played a lot of football already this season.

"It is funny being Barca coach -- when you rest someone you are asked why, when you don't you're asked why. He is fine," he said, before joking: "He had played 850,000 minutes already so far this season, so we thought the best for him and for the team was for him not to play today."

Versatile La Masia graduate Sergi Roberto had another excellent game filling in for Busquets in the deep midfield role, and Luis Enrique said he backed the youngster to be included in the Spain squad for Euro 2016.

"If I was national coach I would bring him for sure," the former Spain international said. "He can play in so many positions, at the level he does.

"I like him as midfield pivot, but Busquets is there. He plays right-back really well, but there is Dani Alves, I also like him in attacking midfield.

"He has the mentality for that -- does not just see himself as specialist in one position and understands the different things he needs to do as pivot, or full-back, or in midfield. You must be a complete player to do that."
