Andres Iniesta resumes first-team training with Barcelona

Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta looks set to return in Sunday's La Liga clash with Eibar at the Camp Nou after training with the first team on Thursday and Friday.

Iniesta has not featured for Barca since picking up an injury in the Champions League Group E game at home to Bayer Leverkusen on Sept. 29.

The 31-year-old's return would be very welcome for Blaugrana coach Luis Enrique, who is currently without sidelined midfielders Rafinha and Sergi Roberto, while Lionel Messi is still recovering from his knee ligament problem and summer signings Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal remain unavailable for selection.

The club captain took part in training on Thursday and Friday with his teammates at the Ciudad Deportiva Joan Gamper, featuring in photos of the session on the club's website, although the official statement released afterwards did not say he had yet been cleared to return to action.

"This morning's session was the penultimate ahead of Sunday, when Luis Enrique's side receive Eibar at 18:15 at the Camp Nou," the statement read. "All the available first-team squad members, plus Barca B player Gerard Gumbau and Juvenil player Paik [Seung-Ho], took part in the session on the Camp Tito Vilanova pitch.

"Tomorrow, at 11 in the morning, the players will be back to work to polish some final details."

At present, Luis Enrique has just three senior midfielders available in Sergio Busquets, Javier Mascherano and Ivan Rakitic. Gumbau, 20, has made three substitute appearances over recent weeks, but has yet to make a senior start.

Iniesta had posted on Twitter on Thursday after returning to full training with the squad, writing: "First session with my teammates completed. Happy and feeling good."
