Rafinha injury vs. Roma 'very ugly,' says Barcelona boss Luis Enrique

Barcelona coach Luis Enrique was happy with his team's performance following Wednesday's 1-1 draw at Roma in their Champions League Group D opener, but expressed concern about the serious-looking injury suffered by blaugrana midfielder Rafinha.

Defending UCL champions Barca went ahead through Luis Suarez's close-range header, were pulled back by Roma right-back Alessandro Florenzi's spectacular long-range effort, and came closest to victory when Lionel Messi's lob hit the bar late on.

Most worryingly for Barca, however, was substitute Rafinha leaving the game on a stretcher after being on the receiving end of a heavy challenge from Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan just two minutes after entering midway through the second half.

The blaugrana coach told beIN Sports after the game that the injury to the 22-year-old Brazil international looked "ugly," with that and Roma's unexpected goal affecting Barca through the game.

"It is a very ugly injury," Luis Enrique said. "That is the bad news from this round. There will be more tests tomorrow, but it doesn't look good. The injury has affected the game, and the spirit of the players. It was already difficult in the first half, with their goal, and the then the second half with the injury."
