Luis Enrique concedes that Pedro may leave Barcelona, United circling

Barcelona head coach Luis Enrique has admitted he cannot stop his Spanish forward Pedro leaving the Catalan club this summer, amid increased speculation that he is closing in on a move to Manchester United.

Barca's star-studded forward line featuring Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez has meant Pedro's first team chances have been limited in the last year, with the new contract he signed last month appearing to pave the way for his exit rather than secure his future.

The fresh deal lowered his release clause to £22 million, with Enrique conceding the 27-year-old has his destiny in his own hands.

"Pedro? If he wants to go, a club will have to meet his release clause," Enrique said. "I have talked with Pedro to discuss his situation.

"I have told him how I think about it and he told me how he feels about it, but I obviously won't reveal the exact content of the conversation we had."

Meanwhile, Pedro's teammate Sergio Busquets has urged his friend to stay at Barcelona, after he also revealed he the pair have shared conversations discussing his future.

"Yes, I have spoken to him but I won't tell you what he said. It was a private conversation," Busquets said.

"I would want him to stay, I would love him to stay. He is a friend of mine and it will be his final decision. He wants to play more and get more minutes. That's what he wants.

"But we are in a team of great players and it's hard for him. Finally it will be his decision but I hope he stays."

Reports in Spain and the UK suggest United are ready to pay the £22m asking price for Pedro, with developments on his future expected in the next few days.
