Luis Enrique says Barcelona are targeting trophy treble this season

Barcelona coach Luis Enrique said the treble was his team's objective after Tuesday night's straightforward 2-0 quarterfinal win at home against Paris Saint-Germain sent the Catalan outfit through to the last four by a decisive 5-1 aggregate score.

PSG's slight chance overcoming their first leg deficit was almost gone on just 14 minutes, when Andres Iniesta's superb assist laid on the opener for Neymar. The Brazilian headed in his second before the break to kill the tie before half-time.

The result leaves Barca still on course for the treble, with the team currently two points clear of second placed-Real Madrid in La Liga, and qualified to face Athletic Bilbao in May's Copa del Rey final.

Asked at his post-match news conference if his team could win everything this season, the Barcelona coach did not step back from accepting the huge challenge, while admitting there was still a long way to go and some very good teams to face in all three competitions.

"That is our desire, we hope so," Luis Enrique said. "That is what we have been working for with the players, to be in position to go for all the trophies.

"La Liga is still difficult, we have opponents fighting for it. In the Champions there will be three teams with the same chances as us. In the Copa del Rey the other finalist is Athletic, who always cause us problems. So there is still work to do."

On Tuesday's game, Luis Enrique said he was especially happy with how his team had started with intensity and put the tie to bed with two goals inside the first 33 minutes.

"It was a very good start to the game, it had to be like that," he said. "The players knew exactly what the game needed -- that intensity. They have got a very good result, and been decisive. That intensity, pressure in opposition half, and chances we made. A very good result for the team, and a boost for all cules."

Having been knocked out in the quarterfinals last year, Barca are now back in the Champions League's last four for the eighth time in ten seasons, a feat that Luis Enrique called important.

"This is one of the most important clubs in Europe, and the numbers say that," he said. "Furthermore, with a definite style which all fans all over Europe recognise."

Friday's draw could now pit Barca against their former coach, Bayern Munich's Pep Guardiola, after the Bundesliga club hammered Porto 6-1 in Tuesday's other quarterfinal second leg.

Luis Enrique said that he was personally happy that his friend and former teammate had been successful, but he shied away from saying if or when he would like to face Bayern in the competition.

"First off, I am happy that they have gone through," he said. "As I like good things to happen to my friends. 6-1, with so many players missing, show what Pep is as a coach, and Bayern are as a team.

"You never know what is best. We have to wait on Friday's draw, and see who we get."
