Neymar says Barcelona are in their best form of the season

Barcelona are reaching top form just at the right moment of the season, said match winner Neymar after Tuesday's 2-0 Champions League quarterfinal win over Paris Saint-Germain.

The victory sent Barca through to the semifinals 5-1 on aggregate and kept them in line for a historic treble. Luis Enrique's side are also currently two points clear atop the La Liga table, and have reached May's Copa del Rey final, where they will face Athletic Bilbao.

Asked in his man of the match "flash interview" immediately after the final whistle at the Camp Nou if Barca were now in their best form of the season, the Brazilian agreed, while saying the team must now press on and keep the run going.

"I believe yes, we are," Neymar said. "We are in a good moment right now, in the Champions League, in La Liga, in everything. We need to keep going like this.

"We played the same as we played in Paris, we played and we scored. We have taken steps forward and it was a good game."

After the brace took him to 30 goals for Barca in all competitions this season, Neymar said he was happy with his personal performances, but the main targets are trophies for the team at the end of the campaign.

"I am happy with my season and we must continue like this to achieve our objectives," he said. "What we need to do is to keep advancing through the rounds, and reach the final."

After taking his record to five goals in four games against PSG this season, Neymar was asked in jest what the Ligue 1 side had done to provoke him, and preferred to give credit to a phenomenal assist from Andres Iniesta as the midfielder waltzed past three PSG players to lay on the opener.

"They have done nothing to me," was his straight response. "It is about helping my teammates and the team. I am very happy to score two goals today.

"Iniesta, in my first goal, did everything. I just had to dribble past the keeper and score."
