Luis Enrique urges Barcelona fans to support team vs. Valencia

Luis Enrique says he wants the Camp Nou to shake during Saturday afternoon's La Liga clash with Valencia, to help Barcelona come through a "key game" in their title challenge.

With seven games remaining, Barca are top of the Liga table, but last weekend's 2-2 draw at Sevilla allowed closest challengers Real Madrid to close the gap in the title race to just two points.

The Catalan outfit also took a huge step towards the Champions League last four with Wednesday's 3-1 quarterfinal first leg win at Paris Saint-Germain, but still have to finish the job in Tuesday's return leg at home.

The Blaugrana coach told his prematch news conference that, while his team would not be thinking about PSG next Tuesday, they needed the help of their fans to get past what would be a difficult challenge against in-form Valencia.

"The PSG games does not exist," Luis Enrique said. "The only thing which exists is the game against Valencia. There is no margin for error. I will put out the most secure XI.

"When Tuesday comes we will see what happens, as no result is ever definitive. Mentally we are fully switched on, as [Valencia] requires that. The players know that if they are not 100 percent focused things could get complicated.

"I have not done it before but, with this kickoff time and with the effort we have made, I want the fans to carry the team. We want the Camp Nou to shake and move tomorrow."

Valencia won 3-2 at the Camp Nou last season, and had the better of this season's first meeting for long periods, until Sergio Busquets scored an injury-time winner for Barca.

Nuno's side are currently fourth in the table, unbeaten in 10 La Liga games, and need the points themselves in their battle to qualify for next season's Champions League.

"This is one of the seven key games, against an opponent in good form, who has played a spectacular season," Luis Enrique said. "They are one of the best teams in La Liga, a very well worked team, very difficult to overcome. They are very dangerous in attack and their good defensive record does not surprise me. It is a very difficult game, but very attractive."

No European commitments mean Valencia have played few midweek games through recent months, something which Luis Enrique admitted was an advantage as they could prepare better for each encounter.

Luis Enrique said: "Now come the weeks where everything is very short. To play the games, and recover well. The cycle is shorter. I get exhausted and I am not playing. Even still, it is a driver for us. That is why we need 100,000 cules. It is a key day."

Barca midfielder Andres Iniesta was stretchered off against PSG on Wednesday, and tests have shown his back injury is not too serious. However, Luis Enrique said it was unlikely the experienced playmaker would be fit to play on Saturday.

"[Iniesta] is much better, but he has not trained," he said. "In principle he will not make it. Barring a miracle he will not be in the squad."

The in-form front three of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar are all likely to again start against Valencia, with Luis Enrique saying his frontline was the envy of every other coach.

"I value the forward line of Messi, Suarez and Neymar as highly as possible," he said. "Any coach would want to have them. We have them all. They are all the time getting to understand each other better. I do not want to leave anyone out."
