Halilovic, 17, was in the Catalan capital on Monday to formally sign a deal agreed in March that sees the attacking midfielder join Barca from Dynamo Zagreb for 2.2 million euros, which could rise depending on first-team appearances.

The Croatian, who is to play with Barca B next season, told Barca TV: "This is a great day and I am very happy.

"I've always been a Barca fan and I know a lot about the club. I've been watching Barca B this season -- they are a young team who play great football. I can speak a little Catalan. I'm very happy to have been given the chance to play at the biggest club in the world. Hello to all the Barca fans and 'Visca el Barca'!"

Halilovic made 26 appearances, 12 as a substitute, for Dynamo in the 2013-14 season as they claimed the Croatian league title.

He has already made his senior debut for the Croatian national side, but has not been named in Niko Kovac's squad for the upcoming World Cup in Brazil.
