Sunday's A-League game between Brisbane Roar and Melbourne Victory has been postponed due to the Queensland government imposing a three-day lockdown for the greater Brisbane region. The lockdown, which comes into effect at 6 p.m. on Friday, runs until 6 p.m. on Monday and includes the Moreton Bay region, which is where Redcliffe's Dolphin Stadium is located. In a brief statement the Roar announced details for the rescheduled match would be announced at a later date. The Roar are hopeful the match won't be postponed for long. The postponement is the latest impact of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic on both the A-League and W-League seasons. Fans attending Friday's match between the Newcastle Jets and Western Sydney Wanderers have already been told they must wear masks while at McDonald Jones Stadium, while residents of multiple NSW hot spots are not permitted to attend. The crowd has also been capped at 25 percent capacity due to government restrictions. On Thursday, there were several changes to the fixtures of both leagues due to border restrictions. Perth's A-League opener against Adelaide United has been moved from Jan. 16 to Jan. 20, while the Glory's home game against Brisbane has been postponed. Melbourne City's clash with Western United was brought forward from Jan. 17 to Jan. 16, while Newcastle's game against Brisbane was moved from Feb. 6 to Jan. 20. In the W-League, Perth will now face Adelaide twice in five days (Jan. 9 and 14) before hosting Brisbane on Jan. 24. City will now play consecutive derbies against Victory on Jan. 10 and 17, with their away clash against Adelaide moved to Jan. 21.
